Guinea's Ebola Survivors

Guinea's Ministry of Health declared an outbreak of Ebola on March 23, 2014. The virus went on to infect more than 28,000 people across West Africa. In Guinea, more than 1,110 people survived. Many still suffer from various physical and mental health problems, including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, headaches, joint pain and vision problems.

ALIMA, with the support of the EU's Humanitarian Aid Department (ECHO), is currently providing 114 Ebola survivors in N'Zerekore, in southeastern Guinea, with free medical care and psycho-social support.
